Paremski concert May 18 at Meany

She will be 18 this month, but has already won prestigious awards around the world, has made two CDs with the Moscow Philharmonic and debuted with the Los Angeles Philharmonic when she was only 15. Rising star Natasha Paremski comes to the Meany Hall stage next week, her Seattle premiere. The concert is at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18.

Born in Moscow, Russia, Paremski began her piano studies there at age 4. In 1995, she moved with her family to the United States, where she studied at the San Francisco Conservatory, and with several prominent teachers. She is now on full scholarship at the Mannes College of Music (New School University) in New York City, studying with Pavlina Dokovska.

The program for next week’s concert includes a Haydn sonata, etudes by Chopin and a Rachmaninov sonata. Tickets are $32 and are available at the Arts Ticket Office, 206-543-4880.
