Clinical research series begins

A series of presentations for clinical researchers will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 11, with a program on the UW and the Western Institutional Review Board, presented by Helen McGough, director of the UW Human Subjects Division, and David Forster, director of regulatory affairs for the Review Board and UW affiliate associate professor in medical history and ethics.

The Oct. 11 program will be 4:30–5:30 p.m. in Turner Auditorium, room D-209 HSC.

The series is geared toward principal investigators, trainees, research staff and administrative staff and is sponsored by the School of Medicine’s Office of Clinical Research and General Clinical Research Center. Registration is not required.

The 2005-06 ThINK (The Investigator Needs to Know) series will have three more lectures: Financial Conflicts of Interest on Dec. 6, Investigator-Initiated Protocols on Feb. 7, and a final presentation on April 11.
