Non-academic careers for Ph.D.s discussed today

The first in this year’s series of programs on non-academic careers for people with doctorates in the sciences will be at 5 p.m. today (Nov. 10) in room T-639 of the Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Asha Nayak, senior principal medical and scientific advisor for Medtronic Vascular, Santa Rosa, Calif., will speak on Opportunities in the Medical Device Industry and How to Reach Them.

The programs are free and open to everyone. The student-run series is now supported by numerous units across campus.

The organizers also maintain a Web site with postings for local outreach opportunities, fellowships, postdoctoral openings and jobs, in addition to the schedule for future programs.
