Nominations wanted for state ‘Extra Mile’ Award

Nominations are now open for the Extra Mile Awards, which are given to individuals or teams of state employees who “surpass expectations for exemplary public service.” The awards are administered through the office of the Washington Secretary of State.


Employees qualify for the award by:



  • Executing an innovative solution
  • Improving efficiency
  • Overcoming great odds or disadvantages
  • Demonstrating personal valor or bravery


About 10 to 15 people will be selected to be honored with this award. The nomination form is available from http://www.secstate.wa.gov/productivityboard/ The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24.
