Yeh and Jang in piano concert April 6

In the final concert of the East-West Piano Arts inaugural season, the UW School of Music will present noted pianists Nancy Jang and Regina Yeh, performing works for piano four-hands and duo pianos at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 6, in the Brechemin Auditorium.

Yeh, a School of Music faculty member, and Jang — both UW alumnae — will perform works by Bizet, Lutoslowski, and Stravinsky, as well as world premieres for duo pianos by Byron Au Yong, also a School of Music alum, and Kuk Jin Lim. The two pianists will be joined by Jennifer Bowman in piano six-hands works by Alfred Schnittke and Arnoldo Sartorio.

“We are very excited and honored to have two fantastic pianists, Nancy Jang Jennifer Bowman, joining us in our third East-West Piano Arts concert,” said Yeh, who founded the series. “The program will be unique and diverse, including two world premieres, one of which is by a Seattle ‘favorite son,’ Byron Au Yong. And if you’ve never seen the wonders of six hands at one piano, you are in for treat with the Schnittke!”

Tickets for the performance are $10 each, available at the door, by cash or check.
