Wil’s World: The Paper Cutouts of Wil Kerner

Twelve-year-old Wil Kerner was diagnosed with autism at 2. While most people with autism have difficulty reading others’ emotions and are not able to express themselves, Wil has found joy and self-expression in the creation and assembly of colorful, complex collages. With scissors and construction paper as his medium, Will has created a constellation of characters and symbols that populate and animate his world. Experts in autism are intrigued by Wil’s rare talent.

Wil’s work is on exhibit at Harborview Medical Center, Cafeteria Atrium, through Friday, May 30.
