School of Music presents free concerts July 20, 22
The School of Music will celebrate summer with a pair of free concerts in the coming week.
First up is the UW Symphony, conducted by Julia Tai, performing Weber’s Der Freischutz Overture, Stravinsky’s Octet, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 Pastorale. The concert, which is open to the public, is at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, in the Walker-Ames Room of Kane Hall.
The UW Summer Band, conducted by Eric Smedley, presents an outdoor concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, on the plaza between Meany Theater and Odegaard Library. Works by Copland, Holst, Rossini, and Bach are on the program.
Admission is free. Bring lawn chairs!
