Entrepreneurship expert to speak at UW Bothell

The UW Bothell MBA Programs and the Biotechnology and Biomedical Technology Institute present Mark Ahn for two events in January.


Ahn will present The Global and Strategic Entrepreneur from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, as well as lead an entrepreneurial seminar titled Commercializing Life Sciences Products Outside the USA – Why Small Companies Can Do It! From 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, Both events are open to the public will be held in the North Creek Events Center on the UW Bothell campus.


Ahn is professor and chair, Science & Technology Entrepreneurship with a joint appointment from the faculties of Commerce & Administration and Science, Victoria, B.C., University of Wellington; and Principal, Pukana Partners a life sciences strategic consulting firm.


Alan Leong, director of the Center for Student Entrepreneurship at UW Bothell, says, “Dr. Ahn has brilliant ideas for cracking open the global biotech market. He was the point man for bringing Amgen into China. I’m not surprised to hear biotech CEOs tell me that Mark Ahn is their hidden adviser.”


Ahn’s teaching and research interests include technology and knowledge-based strategy and entrepreneurship; management and innovation in biotechnology and life science industries; leadership and organizational change; and social responsibility and venture philanthropy.
