Two for the ages

Charles Darwin, famed author of On the Origin of Species, will be the subject of an evening of lectures and discussion tonight at the Burke Museum. It’s a 200th “Birthday Bash” for a man whose ideas shook more than just the world of science. Read how the anniversary of Darwin’s birth is being noted at the UW and worldwide.


Abraham Lincoln, 16th president of the United States, will be remembered in an informal lecture tonight and a big School of Music concert next Thursday, Feb. 19. Even 144 years after his tragic death, Lincoln continues to be studied and to inspire both professional and amateur historians.
