UW Symphony’s July 23 concert canceled

The UW Symphony Orchestra’s performance for Thursday, July 23, has been canceled due to an unforseen problem.

The orchestra was to present a free summer concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 23, in 130 Kane. Program selections include Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, Dvorak’s Wind Serenade and Beethoven’s Symphony Number 8.

Hwang, a pianist and cellist since age 4, is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in orchestral conducting with Maestro Peter Eros. A native of South Korea, Hwang has served as an assistant conductor to the UW Symphony Orchestra and Opera, and made her opera conducting premiere at Meany Hall with the UW production of Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro.
