Author to discuss Islamic Cairo April 20
Caroline Williams, author of Islamic Monuments in Cairo: The Practical Guide, now in its sixth edition, will give a presentation from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, in 130 Savery.
As a result of the Historic Cairo Restoration Project initiated in 1998, the Islamic city, neglected for so long, has been catapulted into the global world of travel and tourism.The pros and cons outlined in this presentation were formed during a five-week visit to 220 monuments in October.
