Public Hearing Notice
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held at noon on Monday, May 17, 2010 in Room 309 of the HUB, at the UW Seattle campus. The purpose of the hearing is to allow all interested persons an opportunity to present their views, either orally or in writing, on the proposed amendments to Chapter 478-136 WAC, “Use of University of Washington Facilities,” and WAC 478-137-030, “Administrative Authority.”
The proposed amendments to Chapter 478-136 WAC establish a separate Use of University Facilities Committee for each of the UW’s three campuses. Amendments also include newly delegated authority from the President to the chancellors to appoint a chair for the UW Bothell and UW Tacoma committees (amending the previous secretary of the committee role), and add liaison responsibilities between the three committee chairs. In addition, the chapter will be reorganized for clarity and updated where necessary to reflect current practice. The proposed housekeeping amendments to WAC 478-137-030 clarify meaning without changing its effect.
Advance copies of the proposed WAC rules may be obtained by contacting Rebecca Goodwin Deardorff, Director of Rules Coordination, Box 351210, Seattle, WA 98195 or by phone at 206-543-9219. Copies will also be available at the hearing.
Persons wishing to provide written comment may submit their remarks to Ms. Deardorff at the above address, by email to rules@uw.edu, or by fax to 206-685-3825, by May 17, 2010. Additionally, off-campus individuals who wish to provide testimony by phone should contact the Rules Coordination Office regarding phone access to the hearing.
