Campus sustainability, climate change focus of Sustainability Summit Oct. 23
Learn how to be more involved with campus sustainability during UW Sustainability Summit activities 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, in Red Square. That evening, get a sneak preview of the new UWTV series “Climate of Change” and then join a discussion on climate change and reception with deans Lisa Graumlich, Sandra Archibald and Kellye Testy.
This is the fourth annual Sustainability Summit organized by students and the UW Environmental Stewardship & Sustainability office.
The vendor exhibition in Red Square will include more than 20 booths from UW units such as recycling and student groups such as Earth Club. Another 22 booths will be sponsored by community business and organizations such as the Theo Chocolate, Blue C Sushi and Wilcox Family Farms.
A screening of a segment from “Climate of Change,” a four-part series by UWTV, is planned at 5:30 p.m. in Kane 110. From 5:45 to 7 p.m., UW Provost Anna Mari Cauce will moderate a discussion with panelists Graumlich of the College of the Environment, Archibald of the Evans School of Public Affairs and Testy of the School of Law.
Following that will be games, food and prizes for the Share Your Sustainability Contest from 7 to 9 p.m. in the HUB game room. To enter the contest, just submit photos of sustainability activities on campus.
