University of Washington named ‘Great College to Work For’ third year in a row
The University of Washington has been recognized as a “Great College to Work For” by the Chronicle of Higher Education for the third consecutive year. Now in its ninth year, the Chronicle’s 2016 Great Colleges to Work For program recognizes small groups of colleges for specific best practices and policies. The UW was recognized for its teaching environment, and tenure clarity and process.
“The UW is an outstanding community united by a steadfast belief in what’s possible,” UW President Ana Mari Cauce said. “This recognition shows that our unique culture of innovation and collaboration not only makes a tremendous impact on our students, our region and the world, but also makes our University a great place to work.”
Approximately 500 UW faculty and staff were randomly surveyed by the Chronicle and asked to evaluate the university on a variety of categories, including job satisfaction, professional development, compensation, leadership, respect, appreciation and policies.
The UW is one of 93 colleges and universities honored across the U.S. in areas such as leadership, careers, compensation and workplace culture.
