Video: The UW’s annual budget explained
The University of Washington’s annual budget is about $7.8 billion dollars. That’s a lot of money, and people often ask where the money comes from and how it is spent. In reality, the budget is divided up among many parts of the university, and the money that can be put to general unrestricted use — the operating budget — is a relatively small piece of it.
This video takes a look at the UW’s revenue and operating budget from the 2018-2019 academic year. We explain where the money comes from and how it is spent.
