Video: Kids have fun with science at Engineering Discovery Days
Close to 10,000 fourth- through eighth-grade students from across the state came to the UW campus to participate in Engineering Discovery Days April 25 and 26, part of the College of Engineering’s effort to prepare K-12 students for success in STEM.
There were more than 100 hands-on activities with names like “Walk on Water” and “Glowing Pickle” that demonstrated engineering concepts, and exhibits from across the College of Engineering included making ice cream in a bag, creating jewelry from electronic waste, designing and testing a building it to see if it could survive The Big One, and seeing demonstrations of drones, robots and aircraft.
