More than 6,000 graduates attended the University of Washington’s 144th commencement ceremonies on Saturday. UW President Ana Mari Cauce presided as nearly 13,795 degrees were conferred.

Rick Welts, president and chief operating officer of the Golden State Warriors, a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame’s Class of 2018, and a UW alumnus, was the featured speaker.

The degrees conferred include more than 8,268 bachelor’s degrees, about 4,050 master’s degrees, more than 560 professional degrees, 13 educational specialist degrees and about 898 doctoral degrees.

Members of the Board of Regents, deans and other representatives of the university’s 16 colleges and schools participated in the ceremony. Many colleges and schools also have separate graduation programs and investiture ceremonies.
