Fourth UW student screened for novel coronavirus; still no cases confirmed
The University of Washington was notified by Public Health – Seattle & King County that a UW student from the Seattle campus is being tested for the novel coronavirus. The student traveled from China in January and lives off campus. The UW is working closely with Public Health – Seattle & King County to monitor the student and to ensure precautions are taken to minimize risk to the campus. The student is not associated with the three UW students who were previously tested and received negative test results.
Effective Feb. 4, 2020, the University has restricted all official travel to China by students, faculty and staff in light of CDC and U.S. State Department warnings. These restrictions are in effect until further notice.
There continue to be no confirmed cases of novel coronavirus among UW community members.
