Rankings: UW among the best academic universities in the world, according to Times Higher Education

The University of Washington tied for No. 28 on the Times Higher Education annual reputation ranking, released Wednesday. The UW moved up one place from 2020.
The UW shared the spot with Duke, and placed fourth among U.S. public institutions behind UC Berkeley, UCLA and the University of Michigan.
This ranking is determined by a survey of academics who cast votes on the “most prestigious” schools, according to their reputation for research and teaching. The survey is invitation-only among top scholars globally who name no more than 15 universities that they believe are the best in their field.
