VanDusen on Health Board

Karen VanDusen, director of the UW’s Environmental Health & Safety unit, has been named by Gov. Christine Gregoire to a three-year term on the 10-member Washington State Board of Health. She was one of four members appointed because of their “experience in health and sanitation.”

The board has a significant role in setting public health policy and regulating health-related activities.

VanDusen has been director of Environmental Health & Safety since 1995; before joining the UW she directed the state Office of Community Environmental Health Programs.
