The UW Office of Regional Affairs has received the following requests for faculty or staff volunteers. If you would be interested in any of these positions, please contact the groups directly:

University Heights Center for the Community Association Board: Located in the historic University Heights School building at the corner of 50th & University Way, University Heights Center is now home to a large variety of programs for children and adults. More than 150 groups use classroom space for meetings, workshops and ongoing classes. Activities range from dance classes and pet training to live theatrical performances. The Center is seeking volunteers to serve on its board of directors. Board members serve for a minimum of two years and are expected to commit approximately seven hours per month. The board meets monthly, on the second Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, please contact Richard Sorenson at director@uhcca.org  or 206-527-4278.

Wallingford Boys & Girls Club: For more than 50 years, this club has been serving youth ages 5–18 in North Seattle. The club provides a drop-in program, a teen center, before and after school licensed child care, summer camp, and athletic programs. More than 300 youth take advantage of these programs each day. The club is looking for volunteers to serve on its board of directors. Board members are responsible for fund-raising and helping with the capital campaign. The board meets monthly, on the fourth Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Please contact Jaime Flaxman at jflaxman@positiveplace.org  or 206-547-7261 for more information.
