Tips offered for clearing the air
Every day, we drive about 70 million miles and burn 3 million gallons of gasoline in the Puget Sound region. Pretty staggering numbers — so staggering that the UW Transportation Office wants to give you some tips on how you can clear the air this winter. And don’t forget, the office adds, you can share the ride. Use your U-PASS (http://www.washington.edu/upass/) and commute by bus, train, carpool or vanpool. Or make room in your schedule for a non-polluting mode: walk, bike or work from home.
