Free Summer Orchestra concert Aug. 8

The UW Summer Orchestra, conducted by Philip Tschopp, will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8 in 130 Kane. “Concerto Extravaganza” will feature student soloists.

The program includes Double Violin Concerto by Bach, with Derek Wong and Matthew Wu as soloists; Ancient Airs and Dances by Respighi, with Jimmy Cho, assistant conductor; Alto Trombone Concert by Albrechtsberger, with Joshua Bell, soloist, Danses for Chromatique Harp by Debussy, with Ashley Wong as soloist; Premiere Rhapsodie by Debussy, with Nse Ekpo as soloist; and Quiet City by Copland, with Ian Newhall as soloist.

Tschopp is a teaching assistant at the UW for symphony/orchestral conducting.
