The UW Regional Heart Center is organizing a large team of walkers for the 2002 American Heart Association Heart Walk. Proceeds are used to fund critical research and education on heart disease and stroke. Last year UWMC and Harborview fielded a team of 270 walkers, and organizers hope for more this year. The UW is a major recipient of these grants. The Heart Walk begins at 8 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, at Safeco Field. For registration information, contact Sheryl Stradling at sastrad@u.washington.edu or call 206-598-5762.
