Public Service Law event to feature Sandra Day O’Connor

Retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor will speak at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4 in 130 Kane as part of the law school’s Public Service Law Fair. O’Connor will also be a guest for the Gates Public Service Law Inaugural Dinner later that evening.


The first female associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, O’Connor was appointed by President Ronald Reagan and served on the nation’s highest court from 1981 to 2006. In 2004, Forbes Magazine called her the fourth most powerful woman in the U.S. and the sixth most powerful in the world. O’Connor retired from the court in 2005.
