NOT GILLIGAN’S ISLAND: Want to be on a reality show that doesn’t make you look like an idiot? Well, it sounds like you’ll have a chance. TLC, the Learning Channel and BBC are holding an open casting call for their new show, Escape from Experiment Island, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 13 in downtown Seattle.

On the show, two teams of contestants will be dropped off on a remote Scottish Island for one week during the summer. The contestants will have to work together to accomplish particular challenges to get off the island, such as powering a two-way radio or launching a hot air balloon. Food and shelter will be provided but contestants must bring their own ingenuity. Each completed task brings contestants closer to the one raft that only one team will use to get off the island.

Show officials say they are looking for “adventurous, do it yourself types, out of the box and creative types as well as analytical thinkers” to try out for the new show. All contestants must be 21 or older. Applicants should fill out an application online at www.tlc.com and reserve a time to interview by calling 973-275-9334.
