Faculty Development Days coming March 28-29

The 9th Annual UW Medicine Faculty Development Days take place Wednesday and Thursday, March 28-29, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Urban Horticulture Center.

The event is an opportunity for faculty to network, build skills, and rejuvenate.


This year’s schedule includes:


Wednesday, March 28

– Comments on leadership from Dean Paul Ramsey

– Leadership skill-building sessions, practical approaches

– A literary lunch with Emily Transue, author of A Doctor’s Days and Nights in Residency

– Case-based studies of diversity issues in the workplace and classroom


Thursday, March 29

– Time management

– E-mail management

– Scientific writing, the top 10 mistakes of inexperienced writers

– Setting priorities and keeping to them

– Work/life balance – UW, departmental and individual approaches

– The promotions process, general information and specific breakout sessions for clinician teachers, physician scientists, basic

scientists and fulltime clinicians


Continental breakfasts and box lunches will be provided each day.
