College of Ed event to seek K-12 partners

The College of Education is accepting reservations for a colloquium designed to help facilitate partnerships between K-12 and the UW campus.

Developing Successful K-12 Initiatives will run from 2 to 5 p.m. on March 4 in the Walker-Ames Room, 225 Kane. At the gathering, faculty and staff from across campus will have the opportunity to learn about successful K-12 initiatives, learn about campus resources, discuss with colleagues the benefits of engaging in K-12 initiatives, and explore areas of collaboration with faculty from the College of Education.

UW President Richard L. McCormick and Bellevue Public Schools Superintendent Mike Riley will attend the meeting, as will College of Education Dean Patricia Wasley, and K-12 teachers and administrators.

Space for the event is limited. Organizers request that teams of two (at least one faculty member) e-mail RSVPs by Feb. 25 to kurtsahl@u.washington.edu.
