Some events scheduled early in January:



Harborview day on Discovery Channel – On Sunday, Jan. 6, the Discovery Channel will be airing three different one-hour programs shot at Harborview Medical Center. One program will focus on neuroscience and two on orthopaedics. Check your television schedule for times.



Birthing Suite Open House – The new birthing suites on 6 East in UW Medical Center’s Pacific Tower will be available for tours from 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10. Ceremonies will be at 3 p.m. and refreshments will be served. Each suite has private whirpool bath, among other amenities. Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute – The Health Sciences/UW Medical Center annual tribute program will be from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17. Dr. Lois Price Spratlan, UW ombudsperson and professor of nursing, will be the keynote speaker. The program includes music, dance and art displays.
