Kid’s headaches

Pediatric neurologist Sarah Cheyette has written a parents’ guide to understanding children’s headaches. The book, Mommy, My Head Hurts, is published by Newmarket Press of W.W. Norton & Company and is available at University Book Store. Cheyette is a UW clinical instructor in neurology. She received her training at the UW and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center.

Her book describes how youngsters respond to pain differently from adults, as well as how a child’s developmental stage can affect pain reactions. Cheyette also talks about childhood migraines, headache medications, non-drug therapies, and preventive measures.
