Campus housing offered during highway crunch
Beginning Aug. 10, expansion joints in two to three of the five I-5 lanes will be replaced between South Spokane Street and I-90. With more than 260,000 cars traveling this route daily, the news is bringing stress to many commuters, including UW staff.
In preparation for this huge traffic closure, UW Conference Services is offering single occupancy rooms on a first-come, first served-basis for UW staff/faculty members needing to stay on campus during this time. Discounted rooms in the residence halls will be rented out for those needing to stay close to campus and far away from the freeway mess.
If you would like to make a reservation, please call 206-616-1031 Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. or email confhous@u.washington.edu. While advance reservations are appreciated, due to the unique aspects of this construction situation, same-day reservations will be accepted based on space availability.
