Zheng to present New Investigator Science in Medicine Lecture
Ning Zheng, associate professor of pharmacology, will present Protein Ubiquitination: From Plant Biology to Human Diseases at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 10, in Hogness Auditorium. His lecture is part of the School of Medicine’s New Investigator Science in Medicine Lecture Series.
Zheng studies structure-function studies of proteins and protein complexes involved in ubiquitin-dependent proteolysis. Ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation regulates protein abundance and serves as an important regulatory mechanism that is widespread in many biological processes. These include, but are not limited to, cell cycle, immune response, growth regulatory pathways, signal transduction and metabolic pathways.
The lecture will be simulcast to Harborview Medical Center Research & Training Building auditorium and the VA Puget Sound Health Care System: Seattle Division, Bldg. 1, room 518; AmericanLake Division, Bldg. 2, room 343; and VA HSR&D Met Park Main Conference Room, Suite 1400.
