Puttin’ on the Ritz at Meany

The Ritz Chamber Players make their Meany Hall debut at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, as part of the UW World Series.

Founded in 2002 by clarinetist and artistic director Terrance Patterson, the Ritz Chamber Players perform works from the traditional European repertoire, as well as showcase works by contemporary African American composers. They have toured widely, making their Carnegie Hall debut in 2004 and their international radio debut on the BBC in 2005. They were also feature performers for the 37th Annual NAACP Image Awards television broadcast in 2006.

The program includes Handel: Two German Arias; Coleridge Taylor-Perkinson: String Trio; Ravel: Chansons Madecasses; Schubert: Der Hirt Auf Dem Felsen, Op. 129; Mozart: Flute Quartet No. 3 in C Major, C, K.App. 171; and Brahms: Piano Quartet in G Minor, Op. 25.

Ticket holders are invited to come early to learn more at a free pre-show lecture 45 minutes prior to curtain in the Meany Hall west lobby.
