Celebrating centenaries in music
UW music students will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of two composers — Elliott Carter and Olivier Messiaen — with a performance of their works at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, in Meany Theater.
Program selections will include Carter’s sonata for piano and Esprit Rude/Esprit Doux for flute and clarinet; and Messiaen’s Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant-Jésus for piano and Oiseaux Exotiques for piano and ensemble.
