The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition lives on — on the Web, that is
To have been at the UW in 2009 was to hear a great deal about the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Centennial a century back, in 1909. The fair ran from June to October of that year and drew 3.7 million visitors.
Among the many 2009 celebrations of the “AYP” was one at Suzzallo Library, which displayed an extensive collection of programs, photos, newspaper clippings, correspondence and other documents pertaining to the fair.
If you missed that exhibit, you have another chance to see the materials. UW Libraries has announced that the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Centennial Exhibit that was displayed at Suzzallo will now be available online.
