U.S. chief information officer to speak at UW
Vivek Kundra, U.S. chief information officer, will speak at the UW on Thursday, March 4, regarding government efforts to make its information technology work better for citizens.
Hosted by the Evans School of Public Affairs, Kundra will talk and then take questions. The talk is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. in 108 HUB.
Kundra and his colleagues in the Obama administration want government technology to be as customer friendly as that in the private sector. Kundra will discuss ways the administration is making information more accessible and seeking help from experts in education, technology and policy to improve those efforts.
Prior to work in the Obama administration, Kundra was chief technical officer for the District of Columbia and assistant secretary of commerce and technology for Virginia.
