School of Public Health dean finalists will present to the public
The Provost’s Advisory Search Committee for Dean of the School of Public Health, chaired by Dean Marla Salmon, has recommended five finalists for the position.
All candidates present a public seminar. One candidate, Howard Frumkin, special assistant to the CDC Director for Climate Change and Health, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, presented his seminar on March 30. The other candidates and their seminars are:
- Howard Hu, NSF international department chair, University of Michigan School of Public Health — 4-5 p.m. Monday, April 5, T-747 Health Sciences Building.
- John D. Groopman, The Anna M. Baetjer professor of environmental health and chair of the Department of Environmental Health Sciences, Bloomberg School of Public Health, The Johns Hopkins University — 4-5 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 303 South Campus Center.
- Sharon Kardia, professor and chair of epidemiology, director, Public Health Genetics Program, director, Life Sciences and Society Program and co-director, Center for Public Health and Community Genomics, University of Michigan School of Public Health — 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, T-747 Health Sciences Building.
- Claire Sterk, senior vice provost for academic affairs and Candler professor in public health, Emory University — 4-5 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 316L South Campus Center.
