Are they blue? Herons build a home on campus
You may not have noticed them, but the campus is home to a small group of great blue herons who have built nests in trees south of Drumheller Fountain for the past three years. This spring Clare McLean, a birder as well as a photographer/writer in Health Sciences/UW Medicine, News, Community Relations & Marketing, watched the herons with camera in hand and captured the stunning photographs above. And now that you know where the herons are, keep your distance so they’ll come back another year.
