Wind Ensemble to perform chamber concert Oct. 24
Members of the UW Wind Ensemble will perform at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, in Brechemin Auditorium.
Members of the ensemble will perform Symphonies of Wind Instruments by Igor Stravinsky, Divertimento for Brass and Percussion, by Karel Husa; Andante et Scherzo, by Eugene Bozza; Kalabash, by Nigel Westlake; and Scratchband, by John Adams.
The Husa piece will be conducted by Erin Bodnar, a first-year student in the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in instrumental conducting. The Adams piece will be conducted by Vu Nguyen, a graduate teaching assistant. The other will be conducted by Timothy Salzman, professor of music and director of the Wind Ensemble.
