Dan Evans to visit Evans School for public conversation Dec. 3
The University of Washington Evans School of Public Affairs will host its namesake, former Washington governor and senator Daniel J. Evans, for a conversation from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, in the Parrington Hall Forum.
Evans served as governor from 1965 to 1977, then moved on to the presidency of Evergreen State College. When Senator Henry M. Jackson died in 1983, Evans was appointed in his place, and served in the senate until 1989. In 1993, then-Gov. Mike Lowry appointed Evans to the UW Board of Regents, where he served until 2005.
There is no agenda for this event, beyond a welcome by Evans School Dean Sandra Archibald. These are meant to be open conversations between the guest speaker and the audience. The event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is requested.
