Arts Roundup: Pianist Joyce Yang, UW Symphony – and Meet the Mammals

Meet the Mammals
10 a.m., November 5 | Burke Museum
Hundreds of specimens – from tigers to bats, pangolins to wolverines – will be on display during the Burke Museum’s annual Meet the Mammals day. There will be hands-on activities for all ages, with mammal experts available to answer questions. More info.

November 10 – 12 | Meany Theater
Hailed as “a master of visual composition” by Dance Magazine, Jessica Lang, the recipient of a 2014 Bessie Award, transforms classical ballet language into artfully crafted, emotionally engaging contemporary works. More info.
Chuck Close Photographs
November 5 – April 2 | Henry Art Gallery
This traveling exhibition is the first comprehensive survey of the photographic work by renowned American artist and Washington native Chuck Close (BA, Art, 1962). With over 90 works, this exhibition reveals the fundamental role photography has played in Close’s artistic practice for over five decades. More info.
