Contemporary Group to feature new works by UW students
The UW School of Music Contemporary Group will perform Nov. 16 in Meany Studio Theater.School of Music
The UW School of Music will present new works composed by graduate students and a group jazz improvisation in the Contemporary Group concert, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in Meany Studio Theater.
A piece by Abby Aresty titled “Piercing the Veil of Kindness” for flute and electronics will be performed (with guest artist Daria Binkowski) as well as “Points and Disintegration” by Shih-Wei Lo.
Students of faculty artist Cuong Vu will perform a group improvisation. “Boston Fancies” by Steven Stucky (conducted by Erin Bodnar) and Périodes Gérard Grisey will be performed by UW music students.
