Maple and Vine
January 17 through January 22 | Jones Playhouse
Written by Jordan Harrison and directed by Sean Ryan, this darkly funny and provocative investigation of the modern condition asks us to consider how much mobility we’d sacrifice for the chance to just stand still next to someone we love. More info.
Dance Faculty Concert
7:30 p.m., January 20 through January 22 | Meany Theater
Showcasing choreography by our nationally and internationally recognized faculty, this popular concert features advanced dance students, faculty and guest artists. With an array of professional backgrounds in dance genres from ballet to contemporary dance, musical theatre, tango and more, audiences are always delighted with the creativity and diversity this concert delivers. Russian Music of the 1960’s
7:30 p.m., January 20 | Meany Studio Theater
Dr. Brendan Kinsella (piano) joins UW Artist in Residence Luke Fitzpatrick (violin) in a program of 1960s-era violin sonatas by Russian composers. Showcasing elements of serialism and quotations from the past, the musicians perform the Violin Sonatas of Edison Denisov and Dmitri Shostakovich and Sonata No. 2 (quasi una Sonata) by Alfred Schnittke in this program of works grappling with a changing musical landscape in Russia during this time period. UW Symphony & Seattle Symphony Orchestra: Side by Side
7:30 p.m., January 26 | Meany Theater
Ludovic Morlot and David Alexander Rahbee share conducting duties in this program of performances by the UW Symphony and members of the Seattle Symphony, performing both separately and side-by-side. More info.
