Arts Roundup: Brechemin Piano Series, Dobet Gnahoré, PIPPIN and more
As March marches in, UW welcomes an assortment of musical productions to campus. Enjoy a free performance by UW music students; experience the diverse musical talents of African artist Dobet Gnahoré; and see the School of Drama, School of Music, and Dance Program team up to tell the classic story of PIPPIN.

Widely considered one of contemporary African music’s most exciting talents, Dobet Gnahoré has astounded audiences with her thrilling stage presence, appealing melodies and powerful singing. Recently nominated for “Best Traditional Female Artist of Africa” by the KORA All Africa Music Awards, Gnahoré sings in seven languages, backed by a Pan-African band. More info.

Piano Professor Robin McCabe produces this quarterly series highlighting music inspired by great works of literature, performed by top UW music students and special guests. For the March 5 program, Catherine Roch of the School of Art delivers a pre-concert lecture and UW music students perform works by Debussy, Takemitsu, and others. More info.
