Navid Zobeiry serves as an assistant professor of materials science & engineering at the University of Washington. Before his appointment at UW, he served as a lecturer and research associate at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, from 2012 to 2019. Zobeiry’s research is at the intersection of materials science, data science and manufacturing technologies. He has collaborated with major aerospace and automotive companies, leveraging machine learning and AI to develop advanced materials testing and simulation methods, as well as smart and self-optimizing manufacturing techniques. His research group has pioneered several patented AI software solutions tailored for the aerospace sector, with notable aerospace entities obtaining exclusive licenses for some of these innovations.
