Life has been busy but in a great way. I recently published my first book entitled “The Only Black Student,” a book being considered “a mentor in a book” for students of color at predominantly white Universities. Recent success with the book includes it being selected as a common read for The College of Engineering Summer Bridge Program, ALVA and the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity Summer Transition Program. Schools across the country have asked me to come to their campuses and do speaking events centered around my book. Exciting times. I am currently receiving my masters in information management at UW and also working full time at the Boeing company as a functional analyst. The Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity has helped me to develop my leadership skills, as well as guide me through the challenges I faced on campus as an undergraduate.
