University of Washington alumni of color and supporters of diversity enjoyed an exciting evening of networking, great food and music at the fourth annual Alumni Soirée on Friday, August 17, at The Landing in Seattle’s University District. The event was hosted by the UW Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity (OMA&D), along with campus sponsors and partners.
Guests socialized with alumni of all ages, noshed on hors d’oeuvres from Joanne’s Catering and danced to music spun by DJ Uncle Guy. Those who pre-registered for the event participated in a raffle for prizes that included a UW book store gift certificate, a football autographed by Husky Legend Greg Lewis and two tickets to the Huskies’ homecoming football game against Oregon State. UW Vice President for Minority Affairs and Vice Provost for Diversity Sheila Edwards Lange offered welcome remarks.
In addition to OMA&D, event sponsors included the Graduate Opportunities and Minority Achievement Program and the Michael G. Foster School of Business. Partners included the Multicultural Alumni Partnership and the UW Alumni Association.
