Four UW students who utilize services from the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) were named to the 2013 Homecoming Court and recognized during the Husky football game versus California, Oct. 26.
Annah Mwendar and Tony Vo received top honors, earning the title of queen and king and a $1,000 scholarship from the UW Alumni Association. Other EOP students on the court were Tyler Adamson and Maia Szafer. Aida Zain and Varsha Govindaraju rounded out the group.
The court was announced during W Day festivities on Red Square, Oct. 25. The scholarship competition is open to sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students. Finalists were selected and interviewed by a committee of representatives from the UW campus and community.
