OMA&D students, staff and alumni, in collaboration with the UW Carlson Leadership & Public Service Center, United Way of King County and UW student organizations, came together to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., through a day of service on Monday, Jan. 20.
Festivities began with a kick-off event that included speakers, performances and a continental breakfast at the Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center. From there, participants engaged in a variety of community service projects, ranging from disaster preparedness to helping veterans and military families. A group also went to Garfield High School in Seattle to take part in educational outreach workshops and participate in Seattle’s MLK Day march.
