The Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity (OMA&D) introduced new students and their families to the UW at its annual orientation event, Welcome Daze, held in conjunction with Dawg Daze on Sept. 19, at the Husky Union Building.
Welcome Daze provided opportunities for incoming freshmen and transfer students to learn about campus and community resources, and connect with current students, OMA&D staff, faculty of color and UW administrators. Festivities included a resource fair, welcome program with remarks from UW President Michael K. Young and Vice President for Minority Affairs & Vice Provost for Diversity Sheila Edwards Lange, dinner, entertainment, trivia and dance contests, and raffle prizes.
